Blissy vs Quince Silk Pillowcase: An Honest Comparison

By Erin Wise · October 04, 2026

Blissy vs Quince, the short answer: both are 22 momme silk pillowcases with zipper closures and OEKO-TEX certificate numbers on their product pages, and Quince costs less than half as much ($44.90 for a queen on sale, versus Blissy's $105.95 list price). Slip is also 22 momme and costs the most of the three at $120 for a queen. On price alone, Quince is the lowest of the three. On silk, all three stop at the same 22 momme.

I am Erin Wise, founder of Wink Silk, and yes, I sell a pillowcase that costs more than all three. I have no relationship with Blissy, Quince or Slip, and I am going to tell you plainly what each one gives you, and what changes when you move up to 25 momme.

Blissy vs Quince vs Slip at a glance

I checked each brand's own product page on September 29, 2026. Here is what they state, side by side.

Blissy Quince Slip
Momme (silk weight) 22 22 22
Grade and fiber, as stated 6A mulberry Grade not stated 6A long fiber, 100% mulberry (branded "Slipsilk")
Certification OEKO-TEX 23.HCN.63145 OEKO-TEX 1BEHO 078808 No OEKO-TEX claim found on its product page
Closure Hidden zipper Zipper Invisible zipper or envelope
Price $105.95 list (frequent promo codes) $44.90 queen (sale, from $69) $120 queen

Prices move. Blissy in particular runs promo codes often, so the gap you see at checkout may be smaller than the list price suggests.

What all three have in common: 22 momme

Momme is the weight of the silk, and it is the closest thing this category has to a thread count. All three of these brands sell 22 momme, which is the common premium standard. That matters more than it sounds: when three pillowcases share the same weight, the fabric difference between them is much smaller than a $75 price spread would make you think.

Weight is not everything. Grade, weave, stitching and finishing all affect how a pillowcase feels on night one and night three hundred. But if you are asking whether a $120 pillowcase is carrying more silk than a $44.90 one, the answer here is no. They are the same weight.

Blissy vs Quince: where the extra $61 goes

This is the matchup most of you searched for, so let me be specific.

What Blissy gives you

Blissy states 6A mulberry silk, uses a hidden zipper, and lists OEKO-TEX certificate 23.HCN.63145. It also markets a 4-week study on frizz and skin hydration. That study is Blissy's own claim and was funded by the brand, so read it the way you would read any company's study about its own product. (Including mine, if I ever run one.)

What Quince gives you

Quince also sells 22 momme silk with a zipper closure and lists OEKO-TEX certificate 1BEHO 078808. Its page states the momme but not the grade, so you are comparing on one fewer published fact. That is not a mark against the silk. It just means Blissy has told you a little more.

The verdict

Same weight, same kind of closure, both with a certificate number you can look up. At list price, Blissy costs roughly $61 more. Between these two, the difference is price and one published fact, not the amount of silk. Neither goes past 22 momme. The question I would ask a friend is not which 22 momme pillowcase to buy, but whether 22 momme is where she wants to stop.

For a closer look at Quince against a 25 momme option, I wrote a separate Quince silk pillowcase vs Wink Silk comparison.

Where Slip fits

Slip sells 22 momme, 6A long fiber, 100% mulberry silk it brands as "Slipsilk," at $120 for a queen. It markets "43% less friction" than cotton, which again is the brand's own claim. I could not find an OEKO-TEX claim on its product page. That does not tell you the silk is unsafe. It tells you I cannot hand you a certificate number to look up, and for me personally, that is where I draw the line.

Slip's real advantage over the other two is choice of closure: it offers both an invisible zipper and an envelope. I chose a hidden zipper for every Wink Silk pillowcase because it holds the pillow snug and keeps the silk smooth all night. Not sure which you want? I broke down the trade-offs in zipper vs envelope silk pillowcases.

Looking for a Blissy alternative?

Most people looking for a Blissy alternative like what Blissy offers, a stated 6A grade and a hidden zipper, and want more for their money. The one spec Blissy, Quince and Slip all share is 22 momme, so that is where a real alternative has to move.

Our Douceur™ keeps the Grade 6A mulberry silk and the hidden zipper and moves up to 25 momme, about 14% more silk per square meter. It is crafted by a GOTS-certified silk house and certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (BJ025 172302), so you get a certificate number too. If you want the heaviest version, Douceur Doublure™ doubles it to two layers.

Where 25 momme and Wink Silk fit (honestly)

Now the part where I talk about my own work, with the price tag showing.

Our Douceur™ is a single-layer pillowcase in 25 momme, Grade 6A, 100% mulberry silk charmeuse, at $185. Our Douceur Doublure™ is the double-layer version with a hidden zipper, at $245. The single-layer Douceur alone is about four times Quince's sale price and roughly 75% more than Blissy's list price. I am not going to pretend otherwise.

What the extra money buys is fiber. 25 momme carries about 14% more silk per square meter than 22 momme. Denser silk gives you more fabric to wear through, and it tends to hold its smooth surface longer through washing. How long any silk pillowcase lasts depends on how you care for it, so I will not give you a number of years. I wrote more on this in what 25 momme silk actually changes.

Why I built it this way: at 44 I was diagnosed with CLL, and after treatment I developed MCAS. Now I need to know exactly what touches my skin. I could not find silk that showed me its certificates, so I built what I call Performance Luxury Silk™ around numbers you can check. Our pillowcases are crafted by a GOTS-certified silk house, Zibo Daranfang (license GOTS-16032), and certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (certificate BJ025 172302, tested by TESTEX). Wink Silk is pursuing its own GOTS Trader and OEKO-TEX certifications. You can see all of it on our certifications page. We all deserve to know what we are sleeping on for eight hours a night.

Which one should you buy?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Quince silk as good as Blissy?

On the published facts, they are close. Both are 22 momme silk with zipper closures and OEKO-TEX certificate numbers on their pages. Blissy states a 6A grade; the Quince page I checked states momme but not grade. Quince costs $44.90 for a queen on sale versus Blissy's $105.95 list price, so Quince costs less for the same silk weight. Neither goes past 22 momme; 25 momme carries about 14% more silk per square meter.

Is Quince better than Slip?

On price, yes. Both are 22 momme silk, and Quince is $44.90 for a queen on sale versus $120 for Slip. Quince lists OEKO-TEX certificate 1BEHO 078808; I found no OEKO-TEX claim on Slip's product page. Slip states 6A long fiber mulberry silk, where Quince states no grade, and Slip offers an envelope as well as an invisible zipper. Both stop at 22 momme.

What is a good Blissy alternative?

If you like Blissy's 6A grade and hidden zipper but want more silk, Wink Silk's Douceur™ keeps both and moves up to 25 momme Grade 6A mulberry silk, about 14% more silk per square meter, with OEKO-TEX certificate BJ025 172302. It is $185. Douceur Doublure™ doubles it to two layers at $245.

Do Blissy and Quince pillowcases have zippers?

Yes. Blissy uses a hidden zipper and Quince uses a zipper closure, according to their product pages. Slip offers both an invisible zipper and an envelope version. A zipper keeps the pillow snug and the silk taut. Close it before washing so the teeth do not catch the fabric in the machine.

Is 22 momme silk good enough for a pillowcase?

Yes. 22 momme is the common premium standard, and Blissy, Quince and Slip all use it. 25 momme carries about 14% more silk per square meter, so there is more fabric to wear through and it tends to hold its surface longer through washing. It costs more. Whether that is worth it depends on how often you wash and how long you want to keep it.
