Wink Silk · The Proof Room
Our Certifications
The Performance Luxury standard means publishing every specification and every certificate, so any brand can be checked against them, including us. Below are the two certifications carried by the Grade 6A 100% Mulberry silk we use, the license numbers, direct links to the public databases where you can look them up, and downloadable copies of the certificates themselves.
I insist on this level of proof because I need it myself, living with a health condition that means I can't afford to trust a label I can't check.
Wink Silk manufactures with Zibo Daranfang, one of the longest-established GOTS- and OEKO-TEX-certified silk mills in China.
GOTS: Organic from farm to fabric
GOTS is the leading international textile processing standard for organic fibers, verified by an independent third-party audit at every stage of production from cultivation through the finished textile. A GOTS certificate confirms the fiber was grown to organic standards, tracks it through every processing facility, and prohibits harmful chemistry (specific dyes, formaldehyde, heavy metals, chlorine bleach, and many others) at each step. It is issued by an accredited certification body and audited annually. This is what "organic" verifiably means for a textile, and it is why we insist on it for a product that touches your face for one third of your life.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100: Safe chemistry, in every fiber
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the world's most established independent testing and certification system for textiles tested for harmful substances. Where GOTS certifies the organic origin and processing of the fiber, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished textile for hundreds of regulated and unregulated substances, including formaldehyde, aromatic amines from azo dyes, heavy metals, pesticide residues, phthalates, and volatile organic compounds. A Standard 100 certificate means every component of the textile (fabric, thread, buttons, prints) has been tested against Class I limits (the strictest tier, used for products intended for babies and skin-contact articles) and passed. The two certifications are complementary, not redundant: GOTS verifies where the fiber came from and how it was processed; OEKO-TEX verifies what is (and is not) in the finished textile.

In application: Wink Silk LLC's own certifications
As of publication, Wink Silk LLC (the US brand) is in the application process for both its own GOTS Trader certification and its own brand-level OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. These will run in parallel with the fabric-level certifications above and give Wink Silk LLC the right to display the GOTS and OEKO-TEX marks on our own packaging, marketing, and labels under our own license numbers. The moment either certificate issues, this page updates and our license numbers appear here. The founder's rule is to publish nothing that cannot be checked, and that includes the timing of our own applications.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wink Silk actually GOTS certified?
The Grade 6A 100% Mulberry silk we use is GOTS certified (license GOTS-16032, held by our manufacturer Zibo Daranfang) and every meter we ship is drawn from that certified stock. Wink Silk LLC's own parallel GOTS Trader certification is in application; when it issues, we will hold and publish our own license number. Until then, the honest and industry-standard statement is that our fabric is GOTS certified through our certified manufacturer's chain of custody.
Is Wink Silk actually OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified?
The fabric is certified under certificate BJ025 172302, issued by TESTEX. Wink Silk LLC's own brand-level certificate is in application.
Why don't you just claim your manufacturer's certifications as your own?
Because that is not how these certifications work, and we will not misstate them. GOTS and OEKO-TEX certify facilities and license holders, not brands by association. The clean and honest phrasing is that our fabric is certified; when Wink Silk LLC itself is certified, we will say so, and the license numbers will appear on this page.
What is the difference between GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100?
GOTS certifies the organic origin and the entire processing chain of the textile, from farm to finished fabric. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished textile for harmful substances against strict Class I limits. GOTS answers "where did this come from and how was it made"; OEKO-TEX answers "what is in the final product." They are complementary and we insist on both.
Can I get the actual certificate PDFs?
Yes, they are linked in the tables above. If any download does not work or you need a current version, email hello@winksilk.com.
How often do these certificates renew?
Annually. We update this page within a week of each renewal.
Verify us. Verify everyone.
The reason we publish this page is not to prove Wink Silk is honest. It is to give you the tools to check any brand on the same standard, including us. If you are shopping silk elsewhere, ask the questions we answer here: license numbers, issuing body, current PDF, and where to look them up. A brand that cannot answer those questions is telling you what its certifications actually are.
If you would like to talk to us about any of this, or ask a question we have not answered, hello@winksilk.com goes straight to the founder's team. We reply within one business day.
