Professional and Olympic-level athletes now have sleep coaches the same way they have strength coaches, and sleep is tracked, trained, and optimized like any other performance input. Most people never extend that thinking past the gym. They'll optimize their workout, their diet, their supplement stack, and then sleep on whatever pillowcase happened to come with the sheet set, treating the one activity that consolidates all of that other work as an afterthought instead of the thing actually doing the work.
